OBEY Giant, formally recognised as "Andre the Giant has a posse" is a street art and viral marketing campaign based on a design by Shepard Fairey created in 1989 in Rhode Island.

Distributed by the skater community, the Andre stickers began showing up in many cities across the U.S.A. The sticker was originally an exercise Fairey carried out teaching a fellow skater how to produce street art stencils.

At the time he declared the campaign to be "an experiment in phenomenology," whereby the sticker is used to evoke different emotions in people. Over time the artwork has been reused in a number of ways and has become worldwide. Since its origins, Fairey has altered the work stylistically into the OBEY Giant, this has now become synonymous with the clothing brand.

The latest exercise under the OBEY Giant banner is this work in Miami, the forth work to be carried out by the "posse." Here the Mandala wall mural was over 30 feet tall and 20 feet wide – all painted by hand.
