Gearbottle - App Launch
Friday, October 21, 2011 at 4:21PM
Gearbottle is the brainchild of Nick Peacock and crew. Originally launched online, it's a streetwear store locator to find some of those elusive spots we all have difficulty finding from time to time. Monday saw the launch of the Gearbottle Android app and we can expect the iPhone version to be with us shortly.
The concept for the site came about in 2010 on the streets of Soho NYC right after the crew had attended the Dunk x Change Sneaker convention. After the event the guys were cruising the streets searching for Flight Club and realising they were'nt going to be able to find the sneaker boutique, a few drinks and some serious brainstorming ensued.
The concept of an
application for visitors to new cities that mapped out all the choice sneaker stores and streetwear boutiques was born and the outcome is Gearbottle.
By searching the name of the store, city or zip/postal code one is instantly given the exact location of the store and never again will I be trawling round hunting for Hideout. The database includes everything from the more familiar stores to those which are a complete mystery to locate.london
If you've got an Android phone you know what to do. Iphone users, give it a month and you also can enjoy the experience.
I love the concept and can't wait for the iPhone Version come out.
