Eriberto & Estevan Oriol 'Like Father Like Son' Exhibition

The godfathers of Los Angeles photography have joined forces for a very special exhibition running until the end of the month at the Carmichael Gallery, California. 25 limited edition prints from each photographer will be on display. I cannot begin to describe my respect for Estevan Oriol; he is without a doubt my favourite photographer, I find his work truly inspiring. To hold an exhibition with his father, another very talented artist is absolutely priceless.

Estevan and Eriberto Oriol are both known for their detailed, knitty gritty, documentation of LA life. Commonly portraying the life of gangstas and other real life issues. Estevan especially is most known for his black and white images of low riders, guns, women and tattoos. His work has resulted in him being amongst the world's most famous photographers, with a portfolio to match this title. Recently he has undertaken filming; his most recent production is the trailer for the exhibition which can be seen at the bottom of this post.

The pictures speak for themselves. Pics of the exhibition are by Brandon Shigeta, all other photography is by either Eriberto or Estevan. Some of my favourite images from the show can be seen in this post.

The full set of images used in the show can be seen here.

I strongly advise anyone who can get to Carmichael Gallery whilst the exhibition is still running to do so!
