Sean Desmond - 'GiantOne'

Filmaker Sean Desmond recently caught up with artist and REBEL8 chief Mike Giant for his video short entitled GiantOne.

The purpose of the short is to gain an insight into the artist's life and in the film Mike talks about his skating roots, his beginnings as a graffiti artist and how he came to write under the famous 'Giant' moniker. It's an interesting look into the background and inspiration of the man behind one of San Fransisco's most prolific streetwear labels. The time lapse video shows Mike painting a set of shop front shutters with two other artists and is nicely shot by Desmond. I respect Mike Giant greatly as both an artist and label maker, always finding it refreshing to hear what a down to earth guy he is.

The end of the short includes a look at some retrospective imagery of Mike proudly displaying some of his earlier works for the camera.
