Mathieu Young ‘Harvest’ Photo Essay
Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 5:00PM
Photographer Mathieu Young recently spent time on a cannabis farm in North Carolina, during this time he produced this sick photo essay for us to feast our eyes upon.
After graduating from UCLA in 2003, LA based Young began working as an assistant to a host of top commercial photographers. It was during this time that he decided to branch off on his own and bridge the gap between photojournalism and the commercial work he had been assisting with previously
.
This latest addition to his portfolio was shot during a four day period spent with the farmers as they harvested their crop. The shoot is a fascinating insight into the world of cannabis production and is shot really well. I think Young's composition is dope and something I really appreciate from a photographer
and every shot in this set is really well balanced.
I really enjoy the whole shoot and think the subject matter is choice and something one wouldn't normally get a chance to see in such a relaxed atmosphere, hats off to all involved for allowing the photographer to catch what he has on film.
