On November 5th 2008 Sean Desmond began a community based arts project in what is one of San Francisco's most overlooked communities. The idea was to give the people of the Tenderloin community access to the arts and so The Tenderloin Project was born.
After Sean's initial shoot the project expanded rapidly into countless collaborations with artists throughout the world.

The next step was a worldwide "living exhibition" which was shown from the US to Japan, raising peoples awareness of the TP.
Sean is quoted as saying - "This project was never about politics, or creating massive social change. It was simply about the art of living, and what it means to be a human being. We’re complicated, and we all walk different paths, but when we come together and choose to collaborate I think it’s clear that good things can come."
The Benny Gold Collaboration is a concept which has been around for a while but has just become available in a very limited run here.
The 100% cotton tee is available in Black with gold accents to symbolize the hopes and dreams of the neighborhood.
