Outlook Festival 2011

Recently I attended the fourth instalment of Outlook Festival, whereby thousands of music lovers and festival goers converge in Pula, Croatia for ‘Europe's leading Bass Music & Soundsystem Culture Festival’.  I must admit I was sceptical how the festival would work out before I arrived as the crowd had almost tripled from last years’ intimate party.

All my doubts were blown away instantly, arriving to a huge beach party inside the camp site two nights prior to the festival starting. This set the tone for the whole week whereby people from all backgrounds were united to enjoy the worlds’ finest DJ acts and bands. Nothing but good vibes from beginning to end.

Sunbathing and beach parties were the activities during the day, moving in the evening to the familiar fort or the new harbour side area hosting two stages including the main stage. Boat parties were held throughout the days and into the evenings; for anyone who missed out on a ticket make sure you try to get on one next year, it’s well worth it!

My personal highlights had to be the Mungo’s boat, Congo Natty vs. Audio Hardware boat, Submotion Orchestra, High Focus joined by Jehst and Micall Parknsun, Broken £nglish, S.P.Y., Urban Nerds boat, Roska, Pharoahe Monche, Foreign Beggars and the mighty Shogun Audio showcase.

Shouts to Eva, Chloe and the team as well as the festival organisers for making it a great week for everyone in attendance. The hard work is appreciated.

Looking back I find it hard to disagree with the resident advisor when they describe Outlook Festival as; "The best four days of bass music in Europe, if not the world."

See you next year.
