Lost City of Ordos

Located in Inner Mongolia, the city of Ordos was dubbed as the Dubai of Northern China. With an established public infrastructure, showered with wealth and located close to valuable natural resources the city was built for 1 million people yet is inhabited by just a few thousand. A few skaters saw this as a prime opportunity and snapped up the chance to skate the empty streets of a city which was built to skate.
The short was directed by Charles Lanceplaine and shot by Patrik
Wallner and Tommy Zhao and chronicles a day spent tearing up the streets of downtown Ordos. It's quite a bizarre site seeing skaters Jay Meador, Gustav Nymans, Tommy Zhao, Alexander Hwang, James Capps, Elliott Zelinskas and Brian Dolle cruising through what is effectively a ghost town of gargantuan proportions. The guys saw the free rein of the city as the perfect opportunity to be the first skaters to hit the sweet spots of this
surreal yet awe inspiring landscape.
The video captures the scale on which this city is built beautifully and anyone in their right mind would be there at the drop of a hat should they get the chance. You can check out the video at the end of this post and see exactly how much fun these guys must have had cruising round Ordos.
