Stax Records x Supreme

Stax Records is a name that is synonymous with Southern soul music.

The American record label, initially known as Satellite, was founded in 1959 in Memphis, Tennessee by Jim Stewart and his sister, Estelle Axton. Among the many artists who scored hits on Stax and its Volt subsidiary during the Sixties were Rufus and Carla Thomas, Booker T. & the MGs, Sam and Dave, and Otis Redding. Redding's death in 1967 signaled the end of the first Stax era.

Subsequently the company spawned a new crop of hit-makers, among them Isaac Hayes, the Staple Singers, and the Dramatics.

Supreme have collaborated with the iconic record label this autumn for a group of three original T-Shirts featuring Stax heavyweights Otis Redding and Isaac Hayes as well as the classic Stax Records logo.

This trio will be offered along with two other T-Shirts for the Fall delivery. Available in-store in NY, LA, London and online on November 1st.

Available in Japan on November 3rd.
