When it comes to producing a consistent line, Penfield always manage to deliver on every level. The brand are a favourite with us due to both their hospitable nature and the fashion in which they push themselves season in, season out.
Away from their core line, collaborations push the brand directionally and their Black Bear line takes all the technical advances we have become accustomed to and generates something which runs on premium. For the new season the fashion forward collection once again represents something which crosses over between smart styling and functional outerwear. Taking silhouettes synonymous with Penfield and pushing the boundaries in terms of materials, construction and overall aesthetic is what the line is all about. This season sees British tweed manufacturers Moon getting heavily involved.
Founded in 1837 the material manufacturer are renowned for creating top notch fabrics and the use of the cloth through the Black Bear line ties in perfectly with both brands ethos' and they play off each other incredibly well. It has been used to add depth to the Outback vest, the Landis down duffle jacket and the new Banks blazer all of which look highly desirable. As well as the tweed options we see camouflage fabric, Hudson Wax and Japanese floral print fabrics and Nappa leather accents all used with aplomb.
Other silhouettes represented include The Stapleton jacket and vest the Kasson parka, Outback vest and brand new Fullerton jacket. The line is once again a
huge success for Penfield and it’s great to see this line continuing to fly the premium flag.
