As part of their ongoing support of Black History Month Nike have once again successfully pulled together a tidy collection of sneakers and several clothing options.
A Destroyer jacket, snapback, tee, Air Force 1, Blazer, Huarache Free and an Air Max 1 are the pieces which acquire the BHM branding and make for a collection of pretty big hitters out of the Nike stable.
The Destroyer jacket comes dressed in a black wool body and black leather sleeves, BHM branding appears on the breast of the jacket. It is nicely finished with patterned brights under the wind flap, the colours of which draw inspiration from the 1996 USA women's basketball team, 2002 Brazil men's soccer team and 2008
Kenyan long-distance running team, we also see the teams' sports honoured on the sleeve in the form of three logos and the year and team names as patches. There is also a second version of the destroyer which comes complete with zip up hood detailing.
Next up we have the snapback which has complimentary black wool construction and BHM branding which appears on the Destroyer. The bright underbill detailing also matches that of the jacket. This use of brights is translated onto the tee in the form of a typographic print with "UPLIFTING" across the chest.
With regards to the kicks which receive the BHM treatment, we see a Blazer, Air Max 1, Huarache Free and an Air Force 1 all sporting the black build and each coupled with it's own individual accent colorway.
I have to say that out of the shoes the huarache definitely take it for me with clever use of the silhouette to highlight those bright pops.
I think the whole collection does justice to the cause it represents and every piece has something going for it.
The Nike BHM Collection will hit high tier accounts shortly.
