J Dilla - Rebirth of Detroit

James Dewitt Yancey aka J Dilla was unquestionably one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time. He produced tracks for Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, the list goes on. He certainly had cult status as a Detroit hip hop musician during his lifetime, but he garnered an even wider audience after his untimely death in 2006. Tributes from acts such as The Roots, Flying Lotus, Dwele and Talib Kweli spread Dilla's music to a new audience. Immortal Technique said it best, "Dilla's still alive as long as his music is." Here's the latest posthumous release by Dilla.
