Moreporks - Ascend To Victory Collection

For Fall/Winter New Zealand based Moreporks draw inspiration from their countries mountaineering legend Sir Edmond Hilary. The brand have developed themselves each season and drawn on a variety of aspects from the countries rich heritage; Spring/Summer was heavily influenced by sailing and this seasons approach is just as apt.

The seasons colour palette is translated from mountain lakes, rocky ranges, tussock grasses and ice onto fabrics such as Italian mole skin, twill and cord setters. The choice of garms for the Ascend To Victory collection is based on the chills these guys had before or after their expeditions, and the delivery is on point. My first introduction to the brand was through their five panels and I'm pleased to see that they continue to feature heavily throughout this latest collection with the addition of deconstructed six panels, seen featured this season through other brands such as Norse Projects and Benny Gold.

Moreporks as a brand rely heavily on traditional tailoring and production with every piece handcrafted in New Zealand. Their back to nature approach is evident throughout the collection and the use of film based photography in both campaigns and their blog is truly in fitting with their ethos. In the words of the brand themselves "We are not trying to build a new wheel, merely putting a new spin on the old one."

The Ascend To Victory collection will be available online soon.
