JR 'Inside Out' : The People's Art Project (Trailer)

One of my favourite artists, JR has released a short documentary trailer for his current project, Inside Out. The world’s largest participatory art project, it encourages communities around the world to participate in the art process, wheat pasting their own portraits.

Alastair Siddons travelled the world with JR as he inspired communities to come together and make a stand for something. However, not everything ran as smoothly as you'd think.

Using fabric fine liners, the artist depicts a scene of two magpies surrounded by leaves scattered around the entire shoe. The timepiece displays the exact time the particular client of these shoes was born; a nice personal touch.

Vapour Trail Series: SheOne

Renowned graffiti artist SheOne opens the Vapour Trail Series for London-based collective End Of The Line. This nicely shot short film shows the artist working on one of his popular abstract paintings, offering an insight into the process and the methods undertaken.

A fitting choice to kick-start the series, SheOne has been holding it down in London since the mid '80s. In recent years his artwork has seen him travel the world; a true example of a successful transition of art from the streets into the gallery.

NIKECraft by Tom Sachs

Artist Tom Sachs is known for his DIY bricolage sculptural works. He has joined forces with Nike to create a range of products which maintains the ethos behind his work and draws on the idea of space travel creating the NIKECraft collection of products.

The idea behind the project was the fact astronauts need to be as fit as professional athletes, withstanding the rigours of zero gravity, exiting the earths atmosphere and the substantial efforts to partake in what would normally be mundane daily tasks.
