KAWS DOWN TIME Book

KAWS has released his latest limited edition book, appropriately entitled DOWN TIME.

Compiled of work featured in last year's Down Time show at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, the book consists of 112 colour pages with a fine Italian hardcover.

For anyone that missed the exhibition, like myself, this is a great chance to see how the artist and his works have developed over time.

The art of hand drawn typography is becoming something of a lost art, fortunately a growing number of individuals are instigating a renaissance for the industry.

Brands such as Carhartt WIP use the craft to great effect as seen in previous issues of the brand book and the passion for the trade is documented in the forthcoming documentary The Sign Painter Movie.

Purveyors of some of the finest gent's menswear, MR PORTER, have just released “The Manual for a Stylish Life” a collection of profiles of and tips for the modern man.

The 240 page paperback was put together by MR PORTER editor-in-chief Jeremy Langmead and would make for a slick addition to any gentleman's coffee table. The first Edition is well pieced together with a silk bookmark ribbon and a cover which is produced using letterpress printing techniques.

He's represented the scene as editor of countless artist monologues, curated the retrospective exhibition 'Art in the Streets', was consulting producer of the Banksy documentary 'Exit Through The Gift Shop' and has now brought together a collection of stories and imagery for his book 'Tools of Criminal Mischief'.
