Sneaks&Peaks 06.04.13

On Saturday I headed to Birmingham for the first ever Sneaks&Peaks event, held at The Custard Factory Warehouse in the heart of the city's creative area, Digbeth.

Gathering sneaker heads, graffiti writers, street artists, BMXers, skaters, free runners, musicians and creatives alike, an event of this nature in the second city was long overdue.

Funkyst Trick Or Track Halloween Capsule

I recently shot a short video with Joe Marshall for Funkyst, to coincide with the release of a special Halloween capsule dubbed 'Trick or Track' consisting of two tees and a beanie.

Filthy Vicars 4 Deck Felix Mix

I recently made a short video alongside Joe Marshall for Coventry-based music producers Filthy Vicars, featuring a very fast tempo 4-deck mix. Compiled mainly of dubstep, grime and garage, the 13 minute mix features some exclusive tracks both for, and by, the duo.

Boomtown Fair Recap

Last weekend I returned to Matterley Bowl, to attend the fourth instalment of Boomtown Fair, viewed by many as the craziest UK festival, and I can't disagree. Yet again, Matterley Bowl was transformed into a fully functioning town unleashing madness and mayhem within the streets for 28,000 residents to embark on a special journey. Attracting more than ever before, the site was expanded with several new stages and attractions to cater for everyone's needs.

The Jaybees Launch Party

Bristol's newest hip-hop sensation, The Jaybees, have their opening gig this Saturday at The Golden Lion.

The Jaybees are a six piece band fronted by 5 times UK DMC Champion Asian Hawk, who provides the vocals in the form of hip-hop, funk and soul acappellas. To get a taste of the band, check out a short video of them below which I helped produce.

Global Gathering Re-Cap

Last weekend I was shooting at Global Gathering, returning to the familiar site in Stratford Upon Avon for the first time in a few years. The site was slighly smaller than I remembered, however this meant that all the stages were in close proximity so vibes were flying all weekend.

With a mixed line up spreading across the dance music genre's I was able to catch decent sets over the two nights.

Last weekend I was in Poland shooting the 11th anniversary of Heineken Open'er Festival.

Having never attended or even heard much about the festival prior to leaving, I didn't know what to expect apart from a lot of good music from it's very impressive line-up. I was joined by thousands of punters who had travelled from all over the world to embrace the music, set on having a great time no matter what.

I recently attended Gottwood Festival, returning to the dreamy woodland location in North Wales for the second year running.

I remember being amazed the first time I entered the woods last year to be greeted by the amazing light shows, chill out areas and surreal stages, however this year the festival had gone to even more effort by expanding and creating different scenery, equally as impressive.

Beachbreak Live Festival Re-Cap

Last weekend I was shooting at Beachbreak Live, UK's largest student festival. Returning for my second time, I was greeted with torrential rain and wind storms strong enough to blow tents into the air and out of sight.

It didn't dampen spirits however, with a strong line up of musicians from around the world entertaining students there to have a good time. Headliners included Dizzee Rascal, Friendly Fires and Skream. Check out my favourite shots from the weekend after the jump.
