Janet Jackson - Someone To Call My Lover (Giraffage Remix)

Giraffage's previous release, Needs, has only just faded from memory so I'm pleased to see it refreshed in such a timely fashion with this latest offering from the San Franciscan producer. It comes in the form of a remix of Janet Jackson's 2001 heater Someone To Call My Lover.

Giraffage 'Needs' Mixtape

After showing us some promise with his handful of tracks in the past, San Francisco's Giraffage has finally put out some new material in the form of this mixtape, released via Alpha Pup Records.

Needs will have you hooked 20 seconds into the first track. R&B samples and airy soundscapes are laid out underneath some delectably tight percussion. According to the man himself, he went through the worst time of his life and also the best time of his life while writing the songs for this album. Some of the tracks definitely hint to a love lost, some are more upbeat. All of them are on point.

Stream Needs in its entirety below, and download it for free here.

With the comforting sounds  of Giraffage and the swagg productions of XXYYXX both of the artist's bring some impressive style to the table and combining both there efforts has clearly paid off.
