Jela, A Short Film By Will Robson-Scott

The latest short film from talented Londoner Will Robson-Scott offers another close insight into an interesting character, Jela.

Brought up in the heart of the East End of London in a Turkish and English family, he talks about his upbringing and involvement in football hooliganism, skinhead culture and hard drug abuse.

This powerful piece might just be my favourite from Will.

Not strictly a skate video, this visual summarises life in London for a group of skaters, featuring Will Bankhead, Lucien Clarke, and the other Palace boys.

Nike do exectly what they do best each season by releasing this latest City Pack. The latest interpretation of one the favourite capsules to come from the brand is this collection of Roshe Run mids.

The drop consists of four options representing London, Paris, Tokyo and New York with each taking a pop of colour that contrasts against the predominantly dark hues of each silhouette.

Drakes of London Wool and Silk Hanks

Founded 34 years ago, Drakes of London arrived with a collection of gents scarfs. The brands ethos was that luxury was the incarnation of quality and justly produced a range of products to which this was applied.

Hand made ties and printed silk handkerchiefs followed, and to this day the same beliefs are visibly apparent throughout their collections. Here we see three options of Italian produced wool/silk mix hanks, each with hand rolled hems.

VMU London Black & Leather Backpack

London-based VMU specialise in providing luxury cut and sew clothing. They recently released a small capsule collection entitled Black & Leather consisting of four premium items whereby leather is added in various degrees to cotton garments and accessories.

Black works effectively in this collection; a timeless fashion silhouette adding an element of class to the products.

Constructed out of a waterproof nylon body, leather has been added on the front pocket, straps, brand tag and also on the base for added support to the build.

The Candy Store London Opening

After months of hard work and preparation, The Candy Store will be opening it's doors tomorrow evening in it's second location situated on London's Berwick Street. 

After gaining a strong following over the years from it's Birmingham chapter, The Candy Store will offer London a go-to store carrying a selection of the biggest names in streetwear from around the world. Tomorrow night they're throwing a party instore ahead of Fridays opening, information of which can be seen after the jump.

Born Ready - Tee Pack

The streetwear industry is a tough one to break into successfully, as it takes time and resources to put together a full collection, specifically one that attracts the attention of what can be an extremely brand-loyal clientele.

For this reason, we see countless brands attempt to establish themselves with a more minimalist approach, usually in the form of a collection of tees. This is actually quite a difficult feat to achieve, as a t-shirt silhouette offers very little room for improvement structurally. As a result, brands rely heavily on the graphic design element of their tees, which can be a real gamble.

In the case of Born Ready, a London based brand that was established earlier this year, it seems to have payed off. They have kept their line of product short and sweet, with just three tees on offer: the 'Logo' tee seen to the left, followed by the 'Protection' tee and a rather tasty 'Rosy Cherrington x Stuart Mitchell' screen printed tee.

Victate Summer '12 Mainline Lookbook

London brand Victate have unveiled their lookbook showcasing their current Summer collection, dubbed 'Mainline'. Although a small drop consisting of three tee's, two snapbacks and a tote bag, I'm impressed with the designs and the lookbook alike.

Beautifully shot by Edward Li, the brand called in the help of London fixed gear crew Ohana Fixed to model the clothes whilst riding through various spots in the city.

London store Goodhood have released their Spring Summer '12 lookbook, entitled UNLOVEABLE, displaying their top picks and signature pieces from the brands they carry. 

This lookbook is genius; shot in black and white, the styling and theme of the entire shoot is perfect reflecting very well on the well known store. See my favourite shots after the jump.
