Featuring a canvas snake-skin upper with a sharp contrasting red Vans stripe. Snake branding has been added to the tongue tab and midsole, with “Year of the Snake” appearing in Stussy's trademark font on the heel of each shoe. It is looking like these will be exclusive to Stussy Japan, hopefully they'll make their way over to the rest of the world.

In keeping with the surge of Chinese Zodiac influenced releases, Vans are due to release the Old Skool Year Of The Snake pack very soon.
The popular vintage model's upper has undergone the snakeskin treatment in the form of faux snakeskin on the branding, tongue and heel. These Old Skools are available in five colourways: yellow, turquoise, navy, red and purple.
Julien Stranger, legendary skater and founder of Bay Area brand Anti-Hero, has collaborated with Vans on their latest Syndicate release. Stranger’s Pro S editions of the Era and Old Skool silhouettes are specifically designed to be worn without socks and come with perforated pigskin suede quarter panels for breathability, as well as two interchangeable footbed options – Vans’ UltraCush Lite CMEVA and a Dri-Lex insole that is both reversible and washable.

Having seen the Authentic time and time again over the last year it's refreshing to see that for their latest collaboration Carhartt WIP have dropped the silhouette in favour of the Old Skool.
Ahead of the Vans Syndicate and Streetmachine collaboration, this great promotional video has been released featuring Nicky Guerrero skating the iconic Wonderland Bowl, famous to many skateboarders.
As one of the longest standing skate retailers, it seems fitting to choose Nicky skating this legendary spot, sporting the Old Skool's from the capsule.
